The Department of Poultry Science employs a multidisciplinary approach to scholarship in teaching, research, and outreach. In addition to providing undergraduate and graduate education in the avian sciences and associated discipline areas, we conduct both fundamental and applied research, with many projects having direct application to the commercial poultry industry. We communicate our research findings via extension programs, at scientific conferences, in the scientific and popular press, and electronically. Our overall goal is to be recognized nationally and internationally as a center for scholarship and excellence in poultry science.

• PSU Poultry Science history poster presented at the Centennial Meeting of the Poultry Science Association.
  (As part of the celebration of the Association's 100 years, academic departments and other organizations were asked to submit a poster highlighting key people and events in the history of the unit.  The posters were shown on flat screen monitors in a continuous 30-second loop at the annual meeting, which was held in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, from July 20-23, 2008.   Each registrant was provided with a CD containing all of the posters.)
