Scholarships
for Poultry-Oriented Students
Adams County Poultry
Association Scholarships
Two to four
scholarships are provided to eligible students who are full-time undergraduates
enrolled or planning to enroll in Poultry Technology and Management and
who have made satisfactory academic progress or show academic potential.
Applicants must have documented financial need. Preference will be given
to students whose home address is in Adams County, Pennsylvania. Supported
annually by the Adams County Poultry Association.
The James L. Adams
Annual Scholarship in Poultry
Consideration shall be given to full-time undergraduate students majoring
in Animal Sciences with an emphasis in Poultry Science. First preference
should go to those students who are in the science option of the Animal
Science major or are working on a curriculum with a high percentage of
coursework in the basic sciences and intend to pursue a career in the
field of poultry science.
William Bowers, Jr.
Graduate Endowment in Poultry Science
The purpose of this endowment shall be to enrich the College of Agricultural
Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University by providing monies to assist
graduate students in the Department of Poultry Science to attend conferences,
workshops or to assist them with research costs.
Glenn O. Bressler Memorial
Scholarship
Considerations for this award shall be given to all undergraduate students
enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences
at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated interest
in Poultry Science.
Jay Irwin/Lancaster
County Poultry Association Scholarship
Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate or
graduate students who are enrolled in the Poultry Technology and Management
major or minor in the Department of Poultry Science and who have achieved
superior academic records or show promise of academic success. Preference
shall be given to students in the following order: first, students from
Lancaster County, PA, majoring or minoring in Poultry Technology and Management;
second, students from PA majoring or minoring in Poultry Technology and
Management; third; nonresident students majoring in Poultry Technology
and Management; and fourth, graduate students in poultry science. Supported
annually by the Lancaster County Poultry Association in honor of Jay Irwin.
Frederick H. “Fritz”
Leuschner Memorial Student Fund in Agricultural Sciences
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all
full-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled or planning to
enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences who have an expressed interest
in poultry science and who have demonstrated exemplary academic achievement.

Pennsylvania Poultry
Federation Scholarship in Poultry Science/PennAg Industries Association
Consideration shall be given to all full-time undergraduate
and graduate students who are U.S. citizens currently enrolled or planning
to enroll in the Department of Poultry Science who have achieved superior
academic records or show promise of academic success and have shown an
interest in pursuing a career in the poultry industry. Supported annually
by PennAg Industries Association.
Pennsylvania Poultry
Industry Alliance Scholarship
Consideration shall be given to all full-time students
enrolled in an undergraduate program in the Department of Poultry Science
who are active members of the Penn State Poultry Science Club and who
have achieved superior academic records. Preference shall be given to
those students who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of
poultry science and who have completed a college internship in an agriculture-related
field. Supported annually by the Pennsylvania Poultry Industry Alliance.
William and Edward
Powers Poultry Science Grant Fund
Primary consideration will be given to students enrolled
in the Poultry Technology and Management curriculum with funds supporting
student attendance at professional meetings, exhibits, or industry-sponsored
activities. Endowed by the family of William and Edward Powers.
Herbert S. Siegel Graduate
Student Fund
The purpose
of this endowment shall be to provide supplemental program support fro
graduate students doing fundamental or applied research using poultry
or poultry products as subjects of the research who are working in association
with faculty of the College of Agricultural Sciences at The Pennsylvania
State University.
Raymond E. and Frances
B. Sperry Scholarship
Consideration
for this scholarship shall be given to outstanding undergraduate students
enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences, majoring in Poultry
Technology and Management who have achieved superior academic records,
who manifest promise of future success, and who have documented financial
need. Endowed by Raymond E. and Frances B. Sperry.
Merrill P. and Adeline
B. Tait Memorial Scholarship
Consideration
shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning
to enroll in the Department of Poultry Science who have achieved superior
academic success. Special consideration shall be given to students who
practice or are interested in animal showmanship. Endowed by Donald B.
(’48) and Mary E. (’47) Tait in memory of Mrs. Tait’s
parents, graduates of the college.
Wenger’s Feed
Mill, Inc., Annual Scholarship in Agricultural Sciences
Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time
undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of
Agricultural Sciences who have achieved superior academic records or who
manifest promise of outstanding academic success and who have a demonstrated
financial need. Preference shall be given to students who are studying
in the area of poultry science.
